Name and Address Types
YourCause will store 3 names and addresses for your organization.
REGISTERED NAME AND ADDRESS |
This name and address are provided by the governmental agency responsible for registering your organization and cannot be changed. |
CHECK MAILING ADDRESS (Disbursement Information) | This is the name that will appear on checks. It is also the address where YourCause will send payments. To update this, you will go to Administration > Disbursement Information. |
DISPLAY NAME AND ADDRESS |
This name and address will be displayed to donors. This name and address will not be used for payments. To update this, navigate to Administration > Profile and select the pencil icon to the right of the Display Name and Address field. |
Edit Check Name and Mailing Address
In this article, we will focus on updating your Disbursement Name and Address. You'll log into your account at https://nonprofit.yourcause.com/. Once there, you'll go to Administration > Disbursement Information > Edit disbursement address.
If you would like to update your Display Name and Address, you can do so by clicking the box next to 'This is also our display address'.
Documentation for Name and Address Changes
If you elect to use a new mailing address or name for payments we require 2 verification documents. These should contain your new, requested mailing address or name. Please note that for auditing purposes, the documentation must be provided by a third party. Any documents created by your organization would not be accepted.
Examples of proper documentation include:
- Utility Bills
- Voided Check, Bank Statement or Bank Letter
- Government Issues Documents (Tax Return, 990, Confirmation of Address Change etc)
- Post Office Confirmation of Address Change (must include new address)
If your organization cannot provide these documentations, please contact us.
Once the documentation is submitted, it will be sent to our compliance team to review and approve. Please allow up to 72 business hours for our team to review and approve your banking information. You will receive an email once your address/name change is reviewed.
